Global Knowledge School (GKS) and International Knowledge School (IKS) are originally one school with two departments (English and Arabic) but since both departments follow different curriculum and examinations systems, the English department was considered as a separate school
Global Knowledge School (GKS)
As mentioned above, both the Arabic and the English department share the same school’s building and the facilities with shared administration offices. However, both departments are differ in that Arabic department is follows the Libyan Ministry of Education in their curriculum with additional lessons (English of a British curriculum, Computer, other activities) while the English department which locally and internationally accredited and follow a British curriculum with Arabic and English (Libyan Ministry of Education’s curriculum) as supporting subjects.
International Knowledge School (IKS)
The School which was built in 2010 was approval by the Department of Foreign Education in Libya, and has adopted a UK curriculum that is taught in the School by qualified and experiencedteachers who are either native or near native speakers of English. IKS currently offers pre-primary and primary education (age 3 to 14) but it is planning to expand to secondary education. The School provides a fun and effective learning environment with its excellent facilities including a science lab, a computer lab, a library, a modern theatre, a kitchen with a dining hall and canteen, a football pitch, a basketball/ volleyball court and an indoor air-conditioned swimming pool. This is in addition to various other facilities and services such as the school’s clinic andtransport service. The school also offers a variety of activities which run throughout the year such as cooking lessons, Art, and DIY lessons.
